Lisa Slover

Co-President RU SHRM

Lisa Slover is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management (MHRM) at Rutgers University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rider University in 2009 and took a number of electives in human resources at Rider as well.  Lisa has been working at the Somerset County YMCA as a Program Director since August 2012. In this position she manages a staff of 50, a budget nearing $400,000, employee relations and performance, payroll, recruiting, and administration of the department.

She joined RU SHRM as a general member in fall 2015, then as a Project Manager on the Marketing and Communications team in spring 2016, and now currently holds the Co-President position for the Graduate Chapter. She joined RU SHRM to meet new friends, network with HR professionals, and get involved in the University.
Lisa’s areas of interest include training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee performance and incentive programs. In her free time, she enjoys training her dog, swimming, CrossFit, reading, and spending time with family and friends.


Ran Zhang

Co-President RU SHRM

Ran Zhang is a second year MHRM student at Rutgers and a TA for Statistics for HR of two undergraduate classes. She earned her Bachelors in Human Resource Management Degree in Beijing. This summer, she was an intern of Global Human Resource Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) at IBM and plan to join IBM as a full-time employee after graduation in May 2017. Her first rotation is social engagement analytics in North Carolina, U.S. Her other experience in HR includes HR Intern at United Nations based in Manhattan, Recruitment Process Outsourcing Analyst at Manpower, and HR Generalist at Walmart in Beijing. She was also a Business Consultant for 180 Degrees Consulting in New York last year.

Her areas of interest include People Analytics, C&B, Talent, HR consulting, HRBP, and Organizational Transformation. Ran joined the RU SHRM Graduate Chapter in fall 2015 as a Project Manager of Merit Awards and was promoted to VP of Merit Awards in spring 2016. She currently holds the position of Co-President for 2016-2017.


Lei Wang

VP Operations

Lei Yang is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Human Resource Management (MHRM) at Rutgers University and will graduate in May 2017. She holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in accounting but she found that she has more interests in HR. Lei worked for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in Compensation and NYU Langone Medical Center in Benefits and Compensation during the previous year at Rutgers. She joined RU SHRM as a Project Manager of Operations in spring 2016, and now she is the Vice President of Operations.


Nisha Patwardhan

VP of Finance

Nisha Patwardhan is a first year graduate student in the Master of Human Resource Management Program at Rutgers University. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in human resource management from Rutgers as well. Nisha was drawn to human resources because she wants to help make the workplace an environment where employees enjoy going, or at the very least, don't mind going. She believes that in order for employees to do perform well in their jobs, the work environment is crucial. 


Aisha Sasi

VP of Marketing and Communications

Aishwarya (Aisha) is a second year graduate student of the MHRM program and will be graduating in December 2016. She has a bachelor’s degree in electronics and instrumentation engineering from VIT University.

Aisha worked at IBM India as a System Engineer for a year and half before she started her master’s at Rutgers University. She joined the RU SHRM team as a Project Manager of IT in spring 2015 and got promoted to the Vice President of Marketing in spring 2016. Aisha joined the HR program because of her interest in business strategy, compensation & benefits, HRIS and HR analytics. She believes that her interests, coupled with her analytical and people skills will make her a great HR professional. 


Robert Catona

VP of IT

Robert Catona received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in May of 2013. He developed an interest in recruitment, retention, and development as the Director of TCNJ’s Programming Board. This experience led him to pursue a management-related career as an Executive Team Leader for the Target Corporation. His daily interactions at Target furthered his interest in talent and performance management and their crucial roles in developing an organization's human capital. Robert was admitted to the Master’s of

Human Resource Management program in January of 2015 and is currently employed as a Human Capital Management Specialist at Rutgers University. He joined RU SHRM as a Marketing Project Manager in May of 2015 and currently holds the Vice President of Information Technology position. His future goals include graduating January of 2017 and pursuing a Human Resource Leadership Development Program where he can utilize his work experience and HR-related knowledge.


Mayuri Bastikar

VP of Membership and Student Liaison

Mayuri Bastikar is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Human Resource Management (MHRM) at Rutgers University and will be graduating in May 2017. She received her bachelor’s degree in management studies from Mumbai University in July 2014. Mayuri has been working as an intern at Ansell Healthcare in their Learning and Talent department since summer 2016 and has had two prior HR internships back in India.

During her internships she has worked on projects related to recruiting, new hire onboarding, gender diversity and training and development. She joined the RU SHRM graduate chapter in the spring of 2016 as a Project Manager for the Membership and Student Liaison team and was promoted to her current position, Vice President of Membership and Student Liaison in fall 2016. Her areas of interest include learning and development as well as talent management.


Jessy (He) Zhou

VP of Merit

Jessy (He) Zhou is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management (MHRM) at Rutgers University and will graduate in May 2017. She joined RU SHRM as a Project Manager of Merit Awards in the beginning of 2015 and currently holds the Vice President position. She is also a Teaching Assistant for Professor Hadi El Farr from this fall semester. She earned bachelor's degree in Jilin University, China, majoring in accounting.

She took business related courses in Jilin University as well and generated a strong interest in Human Resource Management. Therefore, she decided to choose HR as her future career goal and subsequently joined the School of Management and Labor Relations that fall semester. She had a recruiting internship in a technology staffing company in New York City last summer. She is interested in HR generalist, training, and organizational development. She has an interest in fashion and apparel industry, and would like to have an HR position in an international fashion or apparel company after graduation in May 2017. 


Dave A. Ferio

Dave Ferio (ABD, Stevens Institute of Technology, Technology Management; MS Applied Technology, Stevens Institute of Technology; BA Psychology, University of Delaware) has over 26 years of corporate experience including key human resource leadership roles with RCA/GE, Manufacturers Hanover Trust, and Schering-Plough. His key research and teaching interests include leadership and organization development, new product development team effectiveness, business strategy, talent acquisition and retention, succession planning and learning.

In addition, he has broad business skills as an HR generalist encompassing the areas of labor relations and organization effectiveness. He is a member of SHRM, ASTD, Metropolitan Association of Applied Psychology, Human Resource Planning Society, and an International Quality and Productivity guest speaker.
